are you trying to change the internet plan on your huawei e5830 modem and are you restricted by your provider. here is little tweak. i will show you how to unlock your huawei e5830. so here is the step by step guide to unlocking huawei e5830. all the steps in unlocking e5830 is similar to e585 except the last step
step by step guide to unlocking huawei e5830
- download dc unlocker software from here to read information regarding the modem as the port number iemi firmware version etc of you huawei e5830 pocket wifi modem
dc unlocker download - Password for rar is ‘freetrics’
- install the dc unlocker and click on search
huawei modem unlock
- this will show the modem parameters of your huawei e5830 in the box below, here is a screenshot
- now download the huawei psas software
huawei psas free download - password for rar is ‘freetrics’
- run huawei psas reader software and select hardware forensics tab and select use mobile port
- select diag port qc tab and select the table as shown in the screen shot
click lets go and save the unencrypted file somewhere - open the unencrypted file in windows notepad and press “ctrl + f”
- type pst in find what form after the pst there will be 8 digit number which is your unlock code for unlocking your e5830 pocket wifi modem. note that code
- In rare cases some e5830 have been unable to find the PST code, try a higher “Max page” number . if you are still unable to find the code, search for LT P that is LT(space)P the 8 digit code will be following that.
- download the cardlock unlock software from here
download cardlock unlock software for free - now run the cardlock unlock software and enter the eight digit unlock code you obtained from the text file and press ok
- you are done now you have successfully unlocked your huawei e5830 modem for free absolutely without paying anything. if you have any problem doing this please comment here and also comment if you have easier method to unlock huawei e5830 or other huawei modems

I have no PST code, I can find LT P but there is no code next to it (it is filled with empty spaces). Anyone help me ?
Leave the ‘max page’ at 40000, not 250 like the screenshot above.
The unlock code is right at the bottom of the text file, just above the row with 1234567890 in.

I have successfully unlocked my E5830s wife modem but it since to rejecting the original sim. It does not connect to the net. I want also to replace the proprietary firmware from the network provided that originally locked it. Any Help??.
Brilliant – the only problem I had was that ‘find PST’ didn’t work. The code was found after the letters ‘LT P’!

Done this with page at 40000. No PST and LT P has blanks after it. Is this info out-of-date?

brand new problem guys ! I plugged in my imodem to usb port windows 7 recognized and all fine but when I run the DC software its like a blind tool says disagnostic port not found and doesn’t recolonized at all,changed usb cable,restarted but still facing the same problem, can any one tell how I pass this step by getting it readable in DC program ?!

plug in the modem with the simcard that you plan to use. (not the one from the isp who sold you modem)
open up my computer
find the drive representing your modem
open it up and doubleclick on autorun.exe , this installs some drivers that dc needs to identify your modem. Just wait a few seconds after clicking because you probably wont see much happening.
then run dcunlocker and it should find it.
its important to keep dc unlocker open in background while you do the rest of the steps with the psas software.

What Angharrad said found me the Original Pass key for the WIFI….NOT the UNLOCK code.
