a new way to unlock huawei e1732 idea netsetter permanently
many people had problems with unlocking idea netsetter huawei e1732. so here is a new method introduced by nill and it works 100%. first of all you must have patience doing this. because the process it bit long. and also you have to download some softwares. and while downloading the software you will have to disable your antivirus as the crack for the cdma workshop is considered a virus by many anti virus softwares. so these are the things that you should note while unlocking your huawei e1732 idea netsetter usb modem. and also you should not start your huawei e1732 dashboard
so here is the step by step guide to unlocking huawei e1732 idea netsetter.
- download the cdma workshop and save the cdma workshop v 2.7.0. you must disable antivirus before opening the cdma workshop
- download huawei e1732 downgrader
huawei e1732 downgrader free download
- insert a non idea sim to your huawei e1732 netsetter
- now you must find the common port to which your huawei e1732 modem is connected. you can do this by.
- Right click on your “My Computer” icon > Properties > Device Manager > Ports (COM & LPT) > HUAWEI Mobile Connect – 3G Application Interface (COM[The port number appear in your system])
- note down the com port number into which your huawei e1732 idea netsetter modem is connected
- Run “CDMA Workshop v2.7.0.exe”
- Select the Port that you noted from your Device Manager under the Port option in “COM Settings (AT mode)” under the “Main” tab.
- then click on connect and then click on read
- Go to the “Security” tab > Type “000000” in the blank box under “SPC” > Click on “SPC” button > Click on “Send” with Default (nv_read) as SPC.
- Click on “Memory” tab > NV Items > Read > Now a “Conform” box will appear > Click “OK” > Now a “NV Items Backup” box will appear > In the box straight to “Last NV Item” type “9999” > Click “OK” > Save the file by giving a file name you like (Eg: E1732Unlock etc.)
- When the buffer reach “100%” your file is saved successfully > Now a “Information” box will appear > Click “OK” > Minimise “CDMA Workshop v2.7.0”
- Run “E1732 Downgrader” > accept the agreement > Next > Wait for a few seconds until the search for your modem finishes > (Don’t mark on “Auto remove the device after update”) Next > (Don’t remove your data card until the process is finished) > Start > At the end of “Downloading Programs…” you will get a “Update Failure!” error dialog box (DON’T WORRY & DON’T GET DISAPPOINTED) > Click “OK” > Click “Finish
- Restore “CDMA Workshop v2.7.0” > “Main” tab > Disconnect
- Unplug your Idea Netsetter (Modem) from your computer.
- Again Plug it to the Computer > Check the “Port” again from the “Device Manager”
- Go to “CDMA Workshop v2.7.0” select the Port that you noted from your Device Manager under the Port option in “COM Settings (AT mode)” under the “Main” tab as we did before > Click on “Connect” > “Memory” tab > NV Items > Click on “Write” > A “Confirm” box will appear > Click “OK” > “Open” dialog box will appear > Open the file that you saved before > When the buffer reach “100%” a “Information” dialog box appears with a success message > Click “OK” > “Main” tab > Disconnect
- Now close “CDMA Workshop v2.7.0” > A “Confirm” dialogue box will appear > Click “NO”
- Close everything > Enable your Antivirus
- That’s it. Your Idea Netsetter E1732 is unlocked successfully.
- Unplug Idea Netsetter (Modem) from your computer.
- Again Plug it to the Computer.
- Wait for Idea Netsetter to Start
- Put a SIM Card other than IDEA to the Netsetter / ModemIf it again shows “The SIM/USIM card not been detected or is invalid” (DON’T GET DISAPPOINTED) > Click “OK” > Wait for the SIM card to be detected > It will detect the SIM card and enjoy browsing with any other SIM.
- to make new mobile apn settings you can download huawei mobile partner. read and download mobile partner from this page
many people are having problem while connecting to internet with other sim cards
now you can connect by any sim card with default IDEA net Setter Dashboard using these steps
If your Modem is detecting sim cards and you are getting errors then do this
for XP
1 Control Panel -> Phone and Modem (found directly in control panel or in Printers and other hardware ) –> modem tab –> huawei mobile connect 3g modem (which is present on COM ) –> –> properties advance –> in extra initializing command use given commands and click OK
for windows 7
start menu -. type phone and modem — click on it—>modems –>huawei mobile connect 3g modem–properties–>change settings–>advance–>extra initialization command–>use given command
and if it ask for Country and area code then Country – India and Area Code – 91 and leave other blank

hello admin, i have done everything as you said in post and all steps were successful. but now whenever i connect my modem to laptop it gives blue screen error and it hangs. please help

modem is working fine on other pc, its only giving problem on my laptop. after connecting modem blue screen appears with error STOP 0x0000007f (0×00000008, 0×0000000, 0×0000000). I am using windows 7 SP1.
hello admin , just came to tell my BLUE SCREEN ERROR issue is solved. this might be helpful for other peoples also….First i downloaded a software named BLUE SCREEN VIEW. after downloading just open that software, it will show information of all previous crashes with detailed reasons for it. In my case it was cFOSspeed driver which was causing blue screen error. i just uninstalled it and my problem was solved. i hope this post might be helpful for others.

mobile partner me niche EDGE aircel (roaming) display ho raha hai…roaming kyu aa raha hai..
it is ok. it is because some providers share their network. check if you are charged anything extra. what version of mobile partner are you using. have you downloaded new mobile partner

you can’t get 3g speed with 2g plan (hacking trick is different thing)
and even in 3g plan you will not get 7mb per second
which network gives cheapest 3g plan for a month?

46rs 30 mint unlimited download (in haryana 50 mint unlimited download dial *150*46# to activate plan)
148rs 2 hrs unlimited download
BSNL is cheap
new sim Tata docomo cheap (109rs FRC and 3 GB 3G)
speedtest test.net shows the speed in Mbits
which means if it shows speed 8 mega bits per second then you are getting speed 1 Mega byte per second
generally surfing speed is counted in megabits and downloading speed is counted is mega bytes
that’s why company says you will get surfing at 8 mbps and downloading at 1 mbps but this doesn’t mean that surfing is faster
both are equal speed

IDEA method is working in haryana and TATADOCOMO method i can’t say

it will be 3g if you are using 3g plan and 2g if you use 2g plan. its upto you.

the unlock is done by downgrading to e173. there is no difference between e173 and e1732 other than the customised firmware.. if you want to change back to locked idea modem you can download firmware and update to idea firmware.

Kindly, tell me all your procedures should be after installing the netsetter or netsetter should be installed after all your procedures. When I tried, the mobile connect was showing in universal serial bus controller. Why it is showing, instead of in port?
netsetter dashboard must be installed, but exit it before starting all these procedure. netsetter software installs the drivers needed for unlocking. install netsetter dashboard >exit netsetter dashboard>unlock> unintsall netsetter dashboard>install mobile partner

there is no difference between Idea Net setter E1732 and E173du-1
you can check
above the datacard model is E1732 and when you open the cover of datacard then model is E173du-1
cdma workshop unable to read says phone failed to answer even after uninstalling idea netsetter software
After uninstalling IDEA net setter
Install that again or install mobile partner
but before opening cdma workshop
close dashboard and if it’s gets open during update then close it immediately

I have used a MTNL 3G SIM in the data card and it shows full signal meaning the SIM is being detected by the data card after being unlocked. I need just one more info form you. You have provided extra initialization commands for various mobile operators but not for MTNL. Can you please do that? I tried to use AT+CGDCONT=1,”IP”,”mtnlnet” but it did not work.

i was able to un lock the e 1732 net setter and used with my vodafone ,but then i again switch to idea for some time
now as i am trying the vodafone or any other sim ,on connecting i recieve following message from idea dash board at the time of authentication
“”the connection was terminated by remote computer before it could completed”"
i tried again your above mentioned trick and commands given by sahil ,but no fruitful result.
although the modem is recognizing sim card and signal but on authentivation it can not connect,but same sim is working in mobile phone(internet)
however i can use my old idea sim in the netsetter for running internet
please give any solution.

have you changed the apn settings. is the dashboard showing network. try connecting with huawei mobile partner instead of the idea dashboard

Dashboard is recogniging all networks i.e what ever sim i insert it catch up the network
change the idea dashboard. install the mobile partner software. in that you can change the apn settings

I tried installing mobile partner ,it is detecting sim and is connecting but no data transfer is taking place,i.e no up load and no down load
one more thing if i un install idea dash board then mobile partner does not detect device and hence no sim.
then i again tried trick posted by saahil and tried to connect through idea dashboard and it is also not sucess ful it gives error that port is not open(vodafone)

If your Modem is detecting sim cards and you are getting errors then do this
For Windows XP
Control Panel -> Phone and Modem (found directly in control panel or in Printers and other hardware ) –> modem (tab at top near Dialing Rules) –>click on huawei mobile connect 3g modem (which is present on COM ) –> properties–> advance –> in extra initializing command use given commands and click OK and connect via IDEA net setter dashboard
For windows 7
start menu -> type or write- phone and modem —> click on phone and modem —>modem (tab at top near Dialing Rules) –> click on huawei mobile connect 3g modem (which is present on COM )–>Properties–>change settings–>advance–> in extra initialization commands–>use given commands and click OK and connect via IDEA net setter dashboard
and if it ask for Country and area code then Country – India and Area Code – 91 and leave other blank

->(Run “E1732 Downgrader” > accept the agreement > Next > Wait for a few seconds until the search for your modem finishes > (Don’t mark on “Auto remove the device after update”) Next > (Don’t remove your data card until the process is finished) > Start > At the end of “Downloading Programs…” you will get a “Update Failure!” error dialog box (DON’T WORRY & DON’T GET DISAPPOINTED) > Click “OK” > Click “Finish)

once device gat unlocked sucess fully and start detecting your sim ,bu no connection then try this thing
install mobile partner,change apn,also change apn at your right and side bottom of screen(for windows 7)where there is a symbol for internet (left click)>right click on connection detected>properties>profile>enter APN for the required sim connection.and then connect your internet will start working.

are you using 2g or 3g network. this may be network problem try changing the network mode. also try with other providers and choose best one for you. because in some places some connections perform badly. even if you get full signal strength

When i had purchased this data card i could find two port numbers but now i cant find two port. That is the pc ui port but the application port can only be found.

Select the Port that you noted from your Device Manager under the Port option in “COM Settings (AT mode)” under the “Main” tab. then click on connect and then click on read…………….it connect successfully but when i read it it say phone dose not answer…..hepl me for that

i have given my idea net setter for unlocking to one shop while unlocking he run some software now when it is connected to pc it is detected as mobile partner but when i am inserting my airtel sim to the idea net setter and connect it to pc a green light is blinking but in mobile partner dash board while clicking on to connect it is not showing any profile and showing network config error. pls help me

it is possible that you can change the dashboard
the alternate is not working now there is server error
but you can update your E1732 IDEA dashboard and E1731 Airtel dashboard with mobile partner 16 and 21
you should update with mobile partner 21 because it is faster than mobile partner 16 and easy to use
if you want to use mobile partner 16 then don’t install it in your datacard install from your PC or laptop
in your datacard disc install mobile partner 21

and if it ask for Country and area code then Country – India and Area Code – 91 and leave other blank.
when i open “modems –>huawei mobile connect 3g modem–” in my laptop, the “property” button is appearing as disable. So, i could not able to set comment given for different sim cards.
My question is that how i enable property from this path: “type phone and modem — click on it—>modems –>huawei mobile connect 3g modem–properties”
Although, i can use my default Idea Prepaid SIM as it is but could not able to use TATA DOCOMO..

and if it ask for Country and area code then Country – India and Area Code – 91 and leave other blank

unlock huawei e1732 idea netsetter permanently
using CDMA Workshop V 2.7.0 and Huawei E1732 downgrader. Everything went smoothly during CDMA Workshop settings but when I started Downgrader, it failed to search the data cad and twice returned the same error that card could not be founf, or you do not have administrative permission, or its being used by other program.
I then closed the Downgrader and continued with CDMA workshop
Now when Netsetter starts it says contact IDEA customer care.
PLEASE HELP
check whether your net setter is working smoothly with the default idea sim.If yes, then try again.

I think you have lost the drivers of your net setter.Have you driver updater installed on your pc if yes,conect internet with another dial up connection preferably mobile blutooth connection or wi-fi .update drivers & tell us.

I had unlocked my Idea Netsetter successfully by using your CDMA Workshop 2.7 and Huawei Downgrader. Everything was fine and I was able to use even normal SIM of Aiecel. I then decided to upgrade the dashboard. Now when I connect my Netsetter the mobile manager does not start.. Even if I start it then it does not connect. I then have to open Idea dashboard to connect. Can you please help as to what went wrong? Can I have Idea Dashboard re-installed back in my Netsetter? Any help will highly be appreciated & acknowledged.

Last weak i bought a netsetter (e1732) fron ebay. the seller shipped me a device which is not unlocked properly. in the mobile partner software there is a drop-down list in which all the network name is there but when I insert a sim card except Idea it shows a message “only the specified sim card can be used on the device”. so please tell can i unlock my device with your provided instruction .

my data card is in warranty by idea 1 year
to restore to original version you can update the firmware back to e 1732. but your modem will be locked again. e1732 and e173 are same modems with different firmware versions

hello dear, I successfully unlocked the Ideae1372, sim card is being detected, changed apn and added *99# , activated 3g on my airtel sim, signal is 87% 3.9 G in mobile patner , connection is also done , internet accsess is also shown but still no website is opening. Any idea?
is it showing any data transfer in the mobile partner window. if no data transfer is showing then call customer care. or try connecting net through the phone using the sime? did you edit the acess point name correctly to airtelgprs.com .
yes i changed apn to airtelgprs.com and net is workinkg perfectally in phone but despite 86% signal strength not in netsetter

Hey, I hve very successfully unlocked my Huawei(Idea) e1732 or e173du-1 and making full use of it through Airtel on my PC. But the Strange Problem I m getting is that on my Pc its working like a charm but when I connect and install its driver(Mobile Partner 16.001.06.01.500) then when I press connect button on Mobile partner, it hangs and stops responding. Unwillingly I hve to end that program and connects through Windows Dial-Up. I have tried it on 4 PC’s other than me and the same shit happens.. !!
Note:- I hve also tried the same with Customised Idea Dashboardof Nirav. but the same happens and it hangs on pressing connect.!!

All e1732 modem’s manufactured in 3/2011 have the same firmware version…so i need this firmware version..yesterday i restored my modem and the missing “2″ return but serial number info = unknown..thats why i guess i have to install 11.126.16.01.356 firmware instead of 11.126.16.00.356….
you can have the original firmware from here. after switching to original firmware youll have the modem as new and it will be locked.

The data card can’t be found. Error Code: 3
One of the following reasons may cause the error:
a. The data card is not properly connected to PC.
b. Other program is using the data card.
c. You do not have the authority of the administrator.

i had bought it in Feb end.
It’s so easy to unlock if U follow the process accurately.
It takes more time to get signals than before unlocked.
work good except a connection problem every time when i use another sim.
so i use mobile partner. It’s more easy & have more features.

As per given steps i successfully unlocked my huawei Idea net setter e1732. Then as per given step i download mobile partner and created new APN for airtell connection, but device show no network connection for any mobile card.
I also followed steps for the modem setting given by posts.
- currently my airtell card have no any internet scheme activated, so this can be a cause for problem ?
Please take this in to consideration and reply as possible as fast. waiting for reply….
network must show irrespective of wether your sim has internet or not. is your sim 3g activated. if no. then go to settings in mobile partner and choose network option as gsm only. if it still doesnt work try repeating the unlocking procedure once again

2g service quality speed etc depends on area of usage. so its better to ask few of your friends. and make sure which would be best for you. some gives high speeds but not consistent. some gives consistent speeds. so ask your friends. for downloading high speed connection with less consistency is ok. but for browsing lesser speed higher consistency network works better. idea nad docomo performs well here.

it might be the problem of internet on docomo. try connecting with any other sim to make sure its the problem with docomo sim. also try to connect throught the docomo sim in a mobile phone. so you can point out where the trouble is

What i do?
go to device manager. select the modem. select properties and change the com port to any number less than 25. make sure the new port is free and is not working with another device.

Now u can easily use any SIM card in E1732 idea without using any unlocking Software
1.First Install software of E1732 idea normally
2.Download mobile partner 16
3.Install Mobile partner 16
4.Connect the device
5.Then install driverssetup.exe from C:/Program files/Idea Net Setter/Driver
6.Now Run mobile partner.
8.Wait until mobile partner will detect your device.
9.Now u have to make manual setting for any SIM u want to use.
10.For settings (for Airtel) go to tools>Profile management>Click on New>in profile name insert Airtel>In APN choose static>insert airtelgprs.com for airtel>click OK
11.Now click on Connect
12.Congratulation! your device is ready for use with any sim

I unlocked my E1732 netsetter successfully – many thanks to your step by step procedure.
Later on I installed the Mobile Partner too. Now my problem is that, while using docomo, reliance and idea sims, in the statistics tab only uploading is getting done; no downloading; even though I can make voice calls with the software.
I am only able to connect with the Idea dashboard and with the original Idea sim. I tried many a times to change the profile in Options > Profile Management; but its not at all getting highlighted. Suggest me a way to make changes to it. Looks a bit tricky.

I have a Unlocked Huawei E1762 on which every sim used to work. But now what IDEA has done is that people having IDEA netsetter(of which IMEI number is registered with IDEA) can only use IDEA sim. So, what can I do to use idea sim in that.

Click on “Memory” tab > NV Items > Read > Now a “Conform” box will appear > Click “OK” > Now a “NV Items Backup” box will appear > In the box straight to “Last NV Item” type “9999” > Click “OK” > Save the file by giving a file name you like (Eg: E1732Unlock etc.)
IN THIS STEP I HAVE MADE AN MISTAKE I DID NT CHANGE THE NO TO 9999 AND I HAVE MADE EVERYTHING NOW MY MODEM AUTORESTARTS FREQUENTLY WHAT TO DO PLS HELP…
you dont need to worry kishore. you can restore the modem by installing the original idea firmware. and after changing back to original idea firmware you can do the unlocking again.
to reset to original idea firmware visit the page below. you can download it from there and install it. and after that you can unlock your modem again

i think you must use huawei mobile partner. and also try to change network type to wcdma preferred or wcdma only to get maximum speed
no, i am using ‘mobile broadband UTPS22.000.02.00.98′ .however i have two doubts-
1-should i mark NDIS or RAS(modem)? with NDIS,message show ‘connection terminated’ maximum of the time.However sometimes with NDIS i get connected.

hi admin i have a problem during uninstallation
when i searched for my port no..as given in ur instruction…by clicking on my computer ..than on properties…..etc…i found my port no 35…and after putting net setter in different ..the port no is 45 ..but in ur software cdma workshop 2.7……….there are option from port 1 to port 25
to fill up……………now qsn is how i fill port no 35……..bcz this is not shown in the option..

But when ever I try to conect error reports comes “the connection to the remote computer could not be established, so the port used for this connection was closed”… and I also want to know ,under “use given commands” should I write the commands for either docomo or bsnl or both?. apart from the extra initialisation commanda you can try downloading and installing huawei mobile partner software as dashboard and connect from it. it will reduce all hassles

no. you have paid for the modem. so it is your property now. you can do anything with it. yes this procedure works for gsm data card e 1732. we use cdma workshop to read the nv files only.

now my question is will the unlocked modem work for 3g network also.because here aircell is offering good tariffs under 3g. i.e if i insert the 3g aircell sim will i be able to browse with this unlocked modem.

remove the idea dashboard first. and then install mobile partner again. and remov modem and plug in again. wait for some time till the pc detects the modem automatically. if you still have trouble you can restore the e1732 to the previous conditions by following the steps here

friends some of the recent modems have the problem that
1.Not detecting any signal
or
2.detecting only some networks signals
or
3.device unavilable or remote server not responding.
i have faced the same problem but finally i found solution for this
what hapens when we unlock your modems is in restoring nv items in cdma work shop some items related to signal and drivers are lose. so when u unlock this modem gets unlocked but loses some functions.
solution for this:
1. first connect an unlocked modem (which is working properly working)
2.step read nv items in cdma workshop from this device(after 100% disconnect and remove device)
3.Now connect your bricked(not detecting signal or not working properly after unlocking)
connect port in cdma workshop and now write nv item of working modem file(which is previously saved)
4.now disconnect . your modem will work properly.
5. still your facing problems upgrade your modem firmware to original locked one.(but you cannot use original modem sim(detects signal but doesn’t connect.)
if we unlock it with cdma-workshop (read nv items and back up)

One of the following reason may be cause error
1.the data card is not connected properly
2.other programme is using data card

bro i have unlocked my net setter by following your steps.i have not done any mistake.
but there is one problem occurring in my net setter is that
except Aircel sim no other sim is detecting on my setter. as u said in ur step “insert a non idea sim to your huawei e1732 net setter”
i have used aircel sim as non idea sim.
but now its not detecting any other sim except aircel.

I’m from Austria and I have a Huawei e173 s-1. I already unlocked it, but when I insert it, it automatically starts installing so called “Ge-org Internet Manager”. I’d like to have Mobile Partner instead. Also I cannot use Mobile Partner, when Ge-org Inetrnet Manager is not installed on my PC.

I tried to unlock the modem using the above steps ( ie.unlock huawei e1732 idea netsetter permanently) but after completing the step “”" Minimise “CDMA Workshop v2.7.0”
Run “E1732 Downgrader” > accept the agreement > Next > Wait for a few seconds until the search for your modem finishes > “”"” It shows a failure message.
What to do please help me…..

if you are intending to use non idea sim in your e 1732 nesetter then you must use huawei mobile partner. if you want to use idea sim you must use idea dashboard
