no idea. i think there is no difference. but you can update firmware if you have any problem doing it
how can i make video call using e173 modem. firmware 11.126.85.00.209 and dash board mobile partner ver 16.
there is no dashboard capable of making video calls on huawei modem. youll have to use third party softwares. and im not sure if any exists
very nice dashboard thanks a lot i got a extra feature of ussd in it before i was not able to see balance on screen but this has a limitation that it shows wrong statics of speed as the plugin one shows accurate ,,,,,,,,,, could update it with one which will show accurate statics???????????
and after installing your one if we again want to install data card memory one then the old one is not working in the same system, we need to restore system to earlier date to make old software work but thanks again did a good job

sorry but any time i try to make a call they say Call closed without any sign of connectivity .. am in Ghana and using the huawei modem e1550..please help me ..mine does not say anything at all .. it just prompts “call Closed” just like that without any sound …

USIM is dedicated for data connection only and it doesn’t support voice calls itself,
if your modem is locked by the provider, you still able to make voice calles
when you use a normal SIM from the same provider.
dear sir, I have unlocked the modem using “huawei e 173 update”, and then check the status with dc-unlocker it said Voice feature : enabled, but it’s in case mobile partner isn’t running..
when I run mobile partner, the voice feature turns disabled (in dc-unlocker) and I can’t ever make a call.

Can you open file with name data on you modem? You must explore Mobile Partner in folder My comp.
1Install Mobile partner from this sitee.
2.open My comp
3.make explore Mobile partner
4. open folder mobile partner
5.find file with name data and open it with RAR explorer or another simmilar program
6.find folder driver
7.run file devsetup32 and DriverSetup
Modem is all time connected in PC and probe program Mobile partner enlabe or dislabe (now i dont now) when you make instaling drivers. I thing program must running.
When you have a problem, you can see my text on huawei e173 unlock in discusion. You can to install drivers from original Huawei soft. From PC calling ist best thing make a call with headphones and microphone…..

I am new to this forum. I have brought Huawei E156G model & put my vodafone sim in this device. After connecting to my laptop huawei mobile connect driver is installed but i am not able to see any network for vodafone means it’s showing nothing except the opening screen of the software. No network is showing & also i did not get step where i need to enter network provider details.
Pls help me how to start internet using this device through vodafone.
